National Scholarship Portal 2023: A scholarship encourages students, especially those who are financially weak and want to emerge as successful personalities in their life. There are almost 37000 colleges and around 780 universities across India. By looking at the figures of colleges in India you can assume the number of students who are eligible for the National Scholarship Portal 2023. Collecting the Scholarship data and maintaining it offline is possible but very difficult.

That’s why the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India came up with National Scholarship Portal. NSP Portal is an online collection of Scholarships and contains the information regarding it.

All the scholarships, which central Government, State Government, and statutory bodies like UGC, AICTE, etc. issues are present in the National Scholarship Portal.

Scholarships Covered Under Central Scheme

Scholarships are not only meant for college students. Even the students of the school can also take benefit from scholarships.

The Government of India keeps launching various scholarships from time to time through their ministries department.

National Scholarship Portal 2023 provides the opportunity for the students for getting scholarships directly to their bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Scholarships present under the Central Government scheme also enjoy the benefits of the National Scholarship Portal. Following are the scholarships of the central Government according to their Department of Ministries:

Scholarships Covered Under State Scheme

State Government too, transfers the scholarship directly to the bank accounts of those students who belong to their respective states.
They either use the platform of the National Scholarship Portal for the disbursement of scholarships or launch their different scholarship scheme websites.

Scholarships covered under UGC Scheme

University Grant Commission(UGC) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India which maintain and regulates the rules and regulation of higher education. Along with this it also provides scholarships to eligible students for completing their higher education.
Just like Central Government, UGC also takes the whole advantage of the NSP portal. The scholarships which UGC covers are as follows:

How To Register Yourself For National Scholarship Portal?

To apply for a scholarship through the NSP portal is very easy. There are two types of users in the NSP Portal. One who is already registered and has their login id and password. And the other one is fresh on the website. Both the users are covered in the below steps to register in NSP Portal.

For Fresh Users

  • Visit scholarships.gov.in,official portal of National Scholarship.
  • If you are a fresher then click on the option ‘New Registration’
  • A guideline page will open in front of you. Read the guidelines carefully and tick mark the options.
  • Click on the ‘continue’ button and on the next page fill in all the details carefully.
  • Hit the ‘Register’ button after filling in all the details carefully.
  • You will receive your credentials which are the application ID and Password on your registered mobile number.

For Existing Users

  • The existing users click on the ‘login’ button.
  • Enter your Application ID and Password which you received in your registered mobile number.
  • You can also change your password and recover your Application ID by clicking on the options Forgot ‘Application ID?’ and Forgot Password respectively.
  • By clicking on the ‘Forgot Application ID?’ option you will be demanded with either your Bank account number or registered mobile number.
  • Click on the ‘Forgot Password?’ button to change your password. Then on the next page, you will be asked for your Application ID. Change your password
  • After entering into the dashboard click on ‘Application Form’. Fill in the registration details, academic, and basic details. Then click on ‘Save and Continue’
  •  On the next page, you have to enter the contact and scheme details with uploading your documents.
  • Recheck all the information you filled in it. If you want to check the information later you can also put your application in the draft by clicking on the ‘Save As Draft’ option.
  • Once clicking on the Final Submit button you can not edit the information again. So before clicking the Final Submit button, it is advisable to recheck the information.
