In 2013, the total number of students appearing in the TN SSLC exams was 112,376, where 80.56 per cent of the students cleared the exams. The passing percentage among the girl candidates appearing in TN SSLC 2013 exam was 79.85, whereas the passing percentage among the boy students was 78.12.
In 2014, the total number of students appearing in the TN SSLC exams was 257,520, where 84.67 per cent of the students cleared the exams. The passing percentage among the girl candidates appearing in TN SSLC 2014 exam was 83.69, whereas the passing percentage among the boy students was 82.72.
In 2015, the total number of students appearing in the TN SSLC exams was 355,026, where 88.10 per cent of the students cleared the exams. The passing percentage among the girl candidates appearing in TN SSLC 2015 exam was 87.12, whereas the passing percentage among the boy students was 86.45.
In 2016, the total number of students appearing in the TN SSLC exams was 598,592 where 91.78 per cent of the students cleared the exams. The passing percentage among the girl candidates appearing in TN SSLC 2016 exam was 89.25, whereas the passing percentage among the boy students was 88.79.
If we look at the above data, it is clear that the number of students appearing in the SSLC exams is increasing constantly. The passing percentage is also improving, which leads us to think the students are being more aware of the importance of the board exams. One very interesting fact is that the girl candidates perform better than their male counterparts.
