The selected candidates are given one month of basic training in the first year of commission, two months of annual training camp every year including the first year three months post-commissioning training within the first two years at ima Dehradun
Territorial Army Exam Eligibility
If you are interested to take the territorial army exam then you must be aware of the eligibility conditions to take this exam. Candidates wishing to appear in the territorial army exam must have completed their bachelor’s degree from any recognized university besides the aspiring candidate should be gainfully employed in central government or semi-government or private firm or owned business or self-employed.
Here I would like to mention that the serving employees of police or paramilitary forces are not eligible to take this exam.
As far as age limits of the candidates are concerned it should be between 18 years to 42 years of age at the time of taking the examination
Syllabus of the Territorial Army Exam
There are two papers in the territorial army exam
- Paper 1: Questions will be asked from reasoning and elementary mathematics.
- Paper 2: Questions will be asked from General Knowledge and English.
You will get questions from topics like Cuban, dice, mirror image and water image, analogy, classification, embedded figure, paper cutting, and folding and pattern completion, etc
The elementary mathematics section will consist of questions from arithmetic, unitary, method number system, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, mensuration, and statistics, etc
In general English there will be questions like synonyms, antonyms, reading comprehension, para jumbles, error spotting, jumbled sentences, sentence correction, and fill in the blanks, etc Whereas the general awareness section will consist of questions from topics like famous personalities, Indian history, politics, economics, geography, geography, basic general knowledge, general science. technology. sports, books and authors, famous places in India, and days and years etc
The pattern of Territorial Army Exam
The territorial army exam will consist of two papers carrying two-part, each paper one will be of reasoning and elementary mathematics, and paper 2 will be of general knowledge and English.
Each part will consist of 50 questions of one mark each the time allotted for each paper is two hours and is conducted in two sessions from 10 to 12 and 14 to 16.
Here I would like to bring to your notice that there will be negative marking in the paper for each incorrect question attempted by the candidate and in order to qualify for the written examination for the territorial army one needs to score 40 marks on each paper

Selection Process for Territorial Army Exam
The selection process for candidates whose application forms are found correct will be called for screening written exam followed by interview only. If passed in written examination by a preliminary interview board by the respective successful candidates will further undergo the test at the service selection board and medical board for final selection
Application fee for territorial army exam
You are supposed to pay a fee of rupees 200, the payment of the examination fee can be made only through the modes prescribed at the website. Payment of fee through any other mode is neither valid nor acceptable.
Applications submitted without the prescribed fee shall be summarily rejected. Fee one’s paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination.
